Hey guys, I've been keeping an eye on this mod for sometime and finally decided to give it a shot. Just bought GTAIV to play a mod like this and have just a few questions. I have installed CLPDFR however, I am not sure exacty what to do after enabling it via "Alt - P" My character just pulls out a Bat.

I've seen on some youtube video that there is a spawn location to change your characters appearance and stuff to a cop looking one, and spawn vehicles. If possibe, can somone give me a brief starter guide or link me to one so that I can get it working. I also have plans to play Multiplayer as well. But just need a starting point to start at. Thanks in advanced - Petroph

Which version do you have? If you have 0.95, then after alt+p you ave to go to the police station and change out. Do you have any other mods installed?

I have version 0.95 RC2. I've been to a few police stations and don't see anywhere to change out at, much less select my vehicle. The only other mod that I have installed, that I know of is ELS.

Here is the report as requested. Says I don't have GTAIV installed, but I do. And yes, its a legit copy.

EDIT: Actually, looking over this report, it says everything is false that is related to GTA IV. Probably because it can't detect GTA IV in general. Yes I did run both the installer and the diagnostic tool in admin mode.

thats odd.....is it on a different drive? try placing the diagnostic tool in the GTAIV directory and run it again, maybe it will detect it that way

Yep, that worked. Though I don't seem to have any problems with it at least yet. I have noticed a few things. I am unable to change my character/Vehicle (Went to some Cop stations with no luck) I don't see any custom vehicles. Will I need to install them? I know how if it comes to that.

EDIT: After seeing a tutorial video it seems my LCPDFR doesnt start like it should. Instead of a welcome thing, it pops up near the bottom of the screen as "Duty Mode" or somthing like that not sure.

I have no other mods installed other then the ELS mod. When I hit ALT P. It does not give me what I see in any of the tutorial videos. I don't know whats goin on

wait a second.....did you tell the LCPDFR installer to put everything in your GTAIV directory? are you using Left Alt P?

I did tell it to install in the correct directory. (Steam>steamapps>common>GTAIV>GTAIV. And I am Using Left Alt I have remapped my keys as ingame appearently the P key is listed as the Definition key ingame. (Video Related)

you don't get a message in your upper left saying drive to a police station to go on duty? That's normal with gta, the HD to crap quality key is P...I just press it again.....ummmm can you tell me what folders you see in your GTAIV directory?

Ya, got it to work now. Just reinstalled it. Guess it wasn't installed properly but it all seems to work now :D. Now just gotta get it to work in Multiplayer ;)

EDIT: Seems to be related to the ELS sytem. Cause i Reinstalled that and it screws everything up. ANy quick fixes? or better yet a version that actually works?

EDIT 2: Unless it has something to do with the custom squad cars I got from the site? Cause i reinstalled those too.

When I play it now and press ALT P it says DUTY FORCE on the bottom of the screen and not the normal stuff.

The best and most stable way for multiplayer is to just play Vanilla. And What I mean by vanilla is the standard install of LCPDFR. It is advisable that you install DAS for multiplayer. This greatly increases communication with others while playing. To download you can get it from gtapolice mods or you can find it in the Official Multiplayer thread. Register on the teamspeak and use that as a tool also when playing online. I would be willing to walk you through the steps. add me to your GFWL:smoke2312 I also sit in teamspeak from time to time.

you must be hitting CTRL P that only forces duty
