All the modded cars i use have no wheels from a distance?

Featured Replies

Hi, I am having issues with nearly every modded car I have added. They seem to have no wheels from a distance and it's starting to bug me as it's like that with 95% of the cars I have added. Is there anything I can do to prevent this or do I just have to put up with it due to the model not having been made correctly? I must admit I am surprised that this is happening to all the cars I have as the ones I pick are made by recommended modders and are also used by gamers who do Youtube vids and they don't seem to have the same issue as me. I am new to adding modded cars so any info on the process would be great.

Try different models. None of the cars I have have this issue. Also, make sure you install any .meta files that come with the vehicles.

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

I try to add cars that don't have Meta files attached and are just a strait swap. Also most of the cars I use are featured cars so I would of thought there wouldn't be an issue with the model missing things and it also seems to be happening to all the cars I add not just certain ones.

It's probably because the vehicle models you downloaded have low quality, GTA (like nearly every other game) is using a system (LOD) where a model displays lower quality models of itself when you get further away from it.

The wheels disappearing means that the guy who made the model didn't bothered to also make lower quality versions for it. Models lacking this feature are also known to cause perofrmance issues, that's a problem.

There is a easy way to verify if a model uses this system, just open the normal .yft file (not the one with _hi at the end) with OpenIV and do this. (image by Sniper296)

Well it could also be caused by some vehicles.meta stuff, but I don't know too much about this things...

Sorry I have only just replied to all your posts. Thanks for all your replies and especially you 11john11 for showing me how to find out if they are using LODs and to check the low quality models. That will definitely come in handy for the future especially when I check out and add new Vehicles. Thanks lads all your help is appreciated and I will keep you posted on how I get on with checking the cars I have added. Thanks again.

You was right john. I checked all the cars I had installed and all but one had no wheels at the lowest settings so it looks like I am going to have to remove them and replace them with better modded cars. Thanks again as that's helped me a lot and at least I know how to check them first before adding them.

I finally checked all the modded vehicles that I added and you was right every car I added except for one had no wheels on the lowest setting and some didn't even have a low or even medium model. So from now on I will just do like you advised and check the models out first before putting them in game. Thanks again for all your reply's as I am pretty new to modding GTAV so all this help goes a long way to teach me what to do to get the game running correctly. All I need to learn now is how to add lines to Carvariations and meta. Files and how to add multiple lines and meta files for multiple vehicles and then I should be sweet to add any vehicle I like. If any of you know what to do and could help me on that as well I would be very thankful. Thanks again lads. :)
