hey, guys

I need you help again, I feel this is the only website that I can get a lot of supports.

I'm using steam to run GTAIV, just a few weeks ago, I get an error that I never seen before:  "Failed to start application [2000]"

It said this is a seculauncher problem, I did tried some solutions on youtube, but most of them are download the "vcredist_x86_2015" to fix this , but I did install three of them over and over again, never works still get the same error when I click play.

So I feel like there must be something that missing in my GTAIV, even I reinstall the whole game without any mods, it still won't run, still getting the same error.

Here is the screenshot of this error

I really hope that you guys could help me to find what is wrong with my game, of course I did try very hard but I need get some help.

If you see this poster please give some support I;m always here wait for reply.

Thanks for helping

Well I have had issues like this (not this exact one) where I have had to reinstall my game. I don't know how to solve this but I say reinstall. To do a clean reinstall go into gta 4's folder, and delete everything in it. After you deleted everything in gta 4's folder proceed to uninstall it on steam. And then reinstall it then all the files will be new and completely un modded. Hope I helped.

I thought I would give my input. You need to install Microsoft C++ 2005 Redist, i attached it for you. This is directly from my GTAIV install disk. If that doesn't work, you can right click on GTAIV.exe and go to compatibility mode, set it for Windows 7 and also check Run as Administrator, Make sure you are also running LaunchGTAIV.exe as admin every time you start

Hope it helps!

Hey,

Thanks for helping! But I just find a way to get away from this error tonight, not a complete fix. I was run through steam and get that error, but right now I run throgh LaunchGTAIV as admin, works well.

But he only problem is, I cannot run as full screen at all, even I change graphic quality. This is a matter of playing lcpdfr, because I cannot see the full text which is the information sent by dispatch.

Please see the screenshot below, this is what text looks like, some parts are missing, cannot get the most important information from control, even when I send ID check.

-Thanks a lot

Hey

I fixed. Here is the solution, install LCPDFR 1.1 into your GTAIV root folder.

Then right click "LaunchGTAIV" - run as admin. You should play with out this error, and lcpdfr will works.

Of course any other mods also will works, just get away from steam.

Just in case, if you have texture losing problem when you run through launchGTAIV, please try this commandline blow:

Well,

If you get your game working without any error or crashes, that means you fixed your game.

But if you want to make your game more stable, I recommend you run through lanuchGTAIV, also do not use xlives, please use dsound.dll loder if you still play lcpdfr. Yo know GTAIV not a stable game so you have to make your way to let game be stable.

What else you can't figure out with? If I can help you with anything?

What are your pc specs?

The text cutoff is caused by windows scaling, in control panel. Try lowering it.

Hello,

Well, Thanks for support, but I already fixed it by editing commandlane and change my game to fullscreen.

But right now, I do have a new problem, after running game 30 or 40 minutes, game crash, back to desktop with a window said gtaiv stop working.

I'm play online by LAN, the goal is in order to make game more stable while running lcpdfr with mods and enb.

Here I can show you my scripts folder and root folder.(screenshot below)

Hi,

Yesterday I did try your guide #2 and #3,  it was helpful, it let the game running a bit longer,

But still didn't completely fix the crashing issue, I can't play more than one hour, last night I was play about one hour 30 minutes and GTAIV stop working happened again.

I have my own commandline it's works great for me. So how can I completely fix this, play for hours?

Also, I'm using policing script, whenever I response to a fight call or a shots fired call, it will cause serious texture losing, also call for backup not working when response to those type of calls by using policing script. Everything mess up.

-Thanks
