I'm not sure if this is the place for it, I'm sure it'll get moved to the correct place if this isn't it, but I thought I'd try asking for some vehicle modders and see if they'd like to take on making an Australian ambulance to match it's real life counterpart.

Somebody on GTA5-mods.com has already taken a sprinter and made a livery for it but the light bars are crap.
I've downloaded and tried toying around with Zmodeler 3 and modding obviously isn't a skill of mine, I couldn't even import the ambulance, I could import police3 like in a youtube tutorial I watched, but the ambulance files wouldn't import for some reason.

^Current Australian Ambulance/Sprinter with NSW Ambo livery

So the model and the livery is all there but the lights really let it down, and I'm wondering if anyone will do a solid for the Aussie LSPDFR players and edit the lights to look better, even though I know it might not be an easy job. Or it might be, I'm not really sure how it all works..

Anyway here's some pictures of the real life counterpart with a low profile overheard bar, and LED red and blues on the bonnet, grill, and roof spoiler.
Little things like the red and blues on the bonnet won't be noticed, but I'd really like a low profile overhead bar and some red and blue lights on the rear. Somewhere along the side, from memory I think it's the each side of the spoiler has a bright square spotlight, as well as on the back right above the middle brake light as you can see in one of the below pictures.

Edit x2: I've just been reading up and appears it might not import because the vehicle is locked or something, I'm not sure how to unlock it or maybe there's another sprinter to download that isn't locked, I'm not sure.

FWIW, that skin does work on other sprinters. I haven't managed to find a Sprinter with a non-shit lightbar yet though, so really hoping someone can take this on.

i could put one together quickly, i would just need access to an unlocked model, which im pretty sure is private only

Is there a way to see if a model is unlocked without zModeler? More than happy to invest the time hunting one down if there is

i dont think so since its zmodeler that locks it. im pretty sure they are all using BritishGamer88  model

I was reading that you could use something called 3D Ripper DX to basically steal the 3D image from the openIV preview, the guy was using it for GTA IV cars but it'd work the same. That could be something to look into, although I think it'd be better to do it legitimately instead of stealing something and potentially pissing off the model creator.

definitely NOT. dont steal models.that's a surefire way of getting banned and no one ever wanting to help you or give you parts/vehicles

Exactly why I thought it wasn't a good idea, an idea none the less.

Anyway while we're at it, in the hopes that we find unlocked versions of these vehicles and someone wants to edit these, without pushing the friendship I was thinking of this too:

^The NSW Fire and Rescue truck included in the same pack as the ambulance. - It looks to be the same model as the MFB truck I've seen on this site, which I think is just a danish or british truck with difference textures.

Again the livery is fine, the model is a bit off but meh, as close as it'll get at this point but it really erks me that all of the lights are blue (I've not used this model in the game but I'm assuming it's missing rear flashing lights too)

Again, the real life counterpart to the GTA model.

 

This one's probably a bigger task than the ambulance but again whoever can take it on would be doing a solid for the Aus LSPDFR community. There's a bit of a difference between the models but not much, it's got a bit of an extra space between the cab and the back, on one side in that gap is the exhaust as per pic and on the other side is a ladder/step type things to the top of the truck, but for the sake of just getting it in GTA with it's proper lights I think it can be looked past. I didn't actually notice this when seeing fire trucks in persons but it's got two separate bars for the red and blue on each side on the front and the back.

If the fire truck and ambulance get done I think we'd have a full fleet of proper looking Australian emergency services.

You're actually legally not allowed to edit those models if you don't have permission, so I suggest you don't try anything.

on topic though, the fire truck and ambo are both going to be made eventually. I'm doing the Victorian versions of both but I know people who will do the nsw variants.

i also wouldn't bother asking permission to edit that current firetruck, as it's a Mercedes and the pics you posted are scanias and an isuzu

BG88 has already warned of making his stuff private due to ripping. dont encourage it plz :3

just be patient and wait for Macgregors stuff, its gon be good trust me :D

my NZ scania fire truck should be done soonish, having issues with collisions... lighting placement... doors not opening in the right place

The point wasn't to convince someone to try something illegal, it's just something that showed up when google searching about how to edit these models and why they wouldn't import.

As I said the models were obviously different, but wouldn't really matter the biggest issue was the lights.

You're right, I guess the best thing to do is wait for the Macgregor and Donnzy models to be released, you better include that high quality Australian siren you edited up in the package too, Mac.

As in buying the cabin part of the truck that was made by scania.

ive got an rfs category 1 isuzu I was working on too but it's on hold
