Backup File Not Working w/ Extras

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I have a small issue with the backup file. For some reason whenever I add a line such as "<Vehicle extra_1=true>police3</Vehicle>" or "<Vehicle extra_1=false>police3</Vehicle>", it will make the whole backup file not work and no backup will show up at all. I have no idea why this is happening, and backup works fine as soon as I remove the line. I have tried this on multiple vehicles, each caused backup to not work.

Any suggestions?

You have put it in quotes, e.g. extra_1="true". However, in my experience it doesn't work very well... I often saw vehicles spawn with extras not enabled that should have been.

Thank you!!! That fixed it. That's a shame it isn't working for you... it works ok for me but then again I'm using it to get a car to spawn without an extra, so that could be it.

Edit: Actually now that you mention it, when I want certain extras to spawn I use the Required Extras portion of the Vehicles.meta file and that works 100% perfectly for me. Every single time the vehicle spawns, it comes in with the extras I have listed in that section. Try giving that a shot.

I just use my custom backups mod, where extras selection works fine. This bug was part of why I developed it. I've never had trouble with using the LSPDFR XML options to disable an extra, but it never worked to make it enable an extra. I'm aware of the vehicles.meta method, but that doesn't work so well when you want to use one model which has many different options that you want to use for various applications.

I should really give that a try. Thank you again.
