Car Textures Mess Up , Even When Following a Template

Featured Replies

Okay, so I'm quite new to making textures for cars. I've looked over several tutorials to understand the basics of creating textures, but I've run into this problem several times and I don't know why.

I downloaded a cvpi model, which of course included the template. I used the template to make my own texture, putting the colors and decals on top of the template. When I make the png and put it on the car in Open IV, the texture is all screwed up. I've included pictures to get a better idea.

I would appreciate help, as I'd love to make some designs I've been thinking of. First picture is the template itself. The second is a picture of me hastily compiling a car with a black front with badges on the sides and a white back for the sake of demonstration. The third one is an example of what I'm experiencing. The badge is on the top and not on the bottom, and the colors are all mixed up and not where they should be.

I've tried rotating the skin and resizing it in various ways but to no avail. Again, I would appreciate any form of help.

its the wrong template for that car!

you need to find out what car your using in gta v and find the temp for that car. CJ's template will only work on his cars...

Most cars have different temps depending on who made them! Hope this helps!

I understand that every car model has a specific template, however the template I used came with the cvpi model files in the zip folder. How would I find the right one for the model?

Link for the model:

This template is for the CVPI that has been ripped from Driver: San Francisco. Any CVPI that doesn't fit this description will have a different template. Find another car.

Many thanks guys, I found a new model and everything turned out nice!

I just have one questions though:

I don't know if this is model related or what, but these white bumps appear when the lights flash. I mean, there's still the flashing lights but these bumps appear on the lights that flash. It's only on the headbar though. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix this?

I believe that the sirensettings in your carvariations.meta is wrong. It needs to be changed to 13, which is for rotators to work
