Better to build a cheap desk top or a expensive one

Featured Replies

Hi does anybody know if its better to buy a cheap desktoptop and buy pieces for the cheap desktop like the i7 graphics card, ram processor motherboard, gtx , liquid cooling for cpu and the graphics card  and put/ replace or install the pieces that the cheap desktop came with. Or is it better to build and buy a expensive desktop on a pc desktop website. can anybody explain which is better ?

Buy the parts, if you buy a cheap desktop, you would have the problem of will the parts you buy fit in it, Most desktops built these days are made to be small, the video card might not fit or the cpu cooling solution you want might be too tall for the case, sometimes the case could have a propitiatory power supply which would mean its low powered and the place it fits in will not fit a more powerful power supply due to its larger size.

Building a computer, sure, you will get a waranty, but then there is the hassle of boxing it up and mailing it back to the manufacturer.

You could get more satisfaction in building the computer yourself, sure, a part could break, but then you would only have to worry about that one part which will be easier to box up and mail back to the store for replacement.

If you have never put together a computer before, there are tons of videos on the subject on youtube.

buy the parts, do some research, sign up for price alerts or specialized emails (I get two from newegg about discounts they offer).. If youre really handy with the internet you can buy specific parts when/ if they go on sale, so a $300 GTX 750i could go on sale for $200 if you wait for the right moment (using as example)

Motherboard, CPU, GPU, PSU, hard drive (id go for a SSD and HDD) case, cpu cooler, optical drive is only the basics of what you need, if you have an existing computer on its last leg and want to build a new one, borrow the CD or DVD burner, it'll save you a couple bucks...

lspdfr plugin or GTA V crashed? find your Rage log in your gta folder, usually found after ragepluginhook.exe and open it, hit Ctrl a, open pastebin.com, select new paste, hit Ctrl v, get the link after you pasted it and supply that with your issue in the specific mod topic, it helps the developer diagnose the problem you may have.
