Random Performance Issue

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have never had any problems with GTA V before running fine on my computer at high settings. However, ever since about 2 weeks ago, after I play for about 10 minutes, the performance starts to go down a bit, and over time, the frame rate decreases to the point where it looks like I am watching a slideshow of GTA V. When I launch the game everything is fine, and it is smooth, but after playing for some time, the performance just drops off and I have to restart the game. Ever since I first installed the game way back when it was released, I did always have a problem where upon the game loading up, there was a little lag. I could easily fix the lag by hitting Alt+Tab to leave the game, and hitting it again to come back, then it would be smooth again, and would stay smooth for the remainder of the game play. Other than that, I have had no issues running the game smoothly until now. I have not really changed anything. I installed a few cars and a few callout packs/police script mods, but nothing else.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Ensure that your PC aint overheating.

I loaded up GTA 5 (not with Ragehook) and played for a while and had a max of 74°C. The stutter persisted after playing for more than 5 minutes, even without Ragehook loaded.

Is there anything wrong with thermal.

I don't understand what you mean. If you mean the thermal paste, then no there is nothing wrong with it. I have never had any temperature problems with my PC. This problem is only with GTA 5 as of late.

Strange. Look at task manager to see if something else is hogging cpu power maybe?

(I did mean thermal paste, but in my 1am language)
