Graphics

Featured Replies

Hello.  I bought GTA V for PS4 and then for PC when it came out for the graphics.  I know just about nothing when it comes to PC tech stuff.  I use a Nvidia graphics card, but don't know if that plays a role.  Anyway, when I went to crank up the graphics, you could see the pixels on the sides of objects, and it just did not look good.  What would I have to do so when I crank the graphics up all the way, it won't lag?  Is it the video card?  idk.

It is most likely your MSAA settings. Make sure they are at least 4x

Thanks that helped!  When I made my texture quality "Very High" it said I needed more room on my graphics card.  I have a Nvidia graphics card.  Like I said I don't know how to really use this.  I see the specs of it.  Which should I look at most in buying a new one for increasing the graphics on GTA? Such as bandwith.

You should completely ignore the "more room" notification. It is really just suggested and even Nvidia put my optimization above it. Don't worry about upgrading, especially if it running well now.

There is a setting to ignore that "more room" thing but I can't remember what it is called exactly; something like "Ignore suggested limit". If you need help, don't hesitate to contact me through steam or PM.

How would I ignore the limit?

I found it.  But it said if I have this on it could cause damage.  Here are my specs

GPU: GeForce GT 705

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU

It tells everyone it will have damage, It just bases it on your gpu capacity. Unfortunately you have a pretty weak graphics card (For GTA V), so your performance will be mediocre at best if you turn the settings way up.

If you decide to upgrade I would recommend the GTX960 or the GTX970. They are both really great for running games. Your CPU is perfect for GTA though so you are fine in that area.

Not familiar with graphics cards at all.  I found this one, but wasn't sure if this is a good one because of the price.  Would this one be fine for running GTA at max graphics?

I second that.

That's exactly the kind of card I was going to recommend! It's a good priced card, and it will be well worth your money. A few benchmarks on the highest settings possible show a solid 30+fps (Which is decent for a $200 card). However, if you're fine with running it at just high settings, you would get a good 60+fps for sure. If you're looking to completely max out your graphics, go for either this or this. Though there are other cards that run at the same performance. Really, it just takes some time and a few videos from JayzTwoCents or other YouTubers to decide what graphics card would be the best for you. Just keep in mind that the graphics card usually should be the most expensive piece in your computer. Hope this helps!

A jolly guy needs some exclamation points here and there!

What @Lunasious said is correct, I have a similar graphics card and I usually run it on high with around 40-45 fps. You have a better CPU than me, so you may be able to push for more performance and quality.
