GTA V Low FPS

Featured Replies

Hi, so I made a thread about this awhile ago and still have a problem but its different than the last one.

Anytime I tried to record in gta v singleplayer at 60-30 fps on normal or even high settings with 1920x1080 I have fps stutter.

So even on all low/normal settings and on 1920x1080 the game will stutter.

(This is only while trying to record the game)

But I can record the game on high/very high settings with 720p resolution. At 30fps of course.

Point is even on low settings and 1920x1080 the game won't even record at 30fps without stutter.

Also having my settings on high instead of low doesn't seem to give me that much more stutter.(So guessing Gtav just runs better with higher quality settings.)

I also have a friend that can run the game at (60fps or 45ish) and he has an i5 and a nvidia gtx 660 or 650.

The fps stutter only happens on singleplayer I tried on multiplayer and it worked and recorded at 60fps on 1920x1080.

My bro has a i7 3770 and a nvidia gtx 970 and the game works perfect while recording at 60fps.

So it could be my processor or something not really sure though. Pls help.

Specs:

Nvidia gtx 970 evga superclocked

Amd fx 8320

8gb ram

It could be over heating, to many high process programs when a computer gets to hot you will get farm drops when playing games. Do you have a program installed that can tell you how hot your computer is?

can we assume you are running mods in SP? as we know multiplayer doesnt allow mods, that might be one issue. your pc may be taking a hit to load alot of multiple cars and textures, and scripts where as it doesnt in MP. ive noticed with my build, Arma 3 takes a major hit in frames when i record with any program other than Nvidia shadowplay. also i dont know what your processor compares to, I have an I7 4770k with a nvidia gtx770 and 32gb ram. one thing i notice with my gta5 is that i have to set the process to high to cut out any stuttering in the game aswell. if i dont i start to lag while running all the scripts and mods with all my settings maxed.

Remember that while recording your PC is constantly writing new information to the hard drive which is actually a pretty strenuous task when trying to also read information at the same time. Also, uncompressed video is pretty taxing on a computer, and although you have a nice enough CPU, it's an AMD. They have smaller cores than Intel, and the recording software you use may not be optimized well for multi-core processors (if at all), so your brothers Intel may be able to handle the work load better.

I had the same issue with the same processor until i sent it back & got myself a intel I7 but you can get a I5 which will run perfectly fine for you.

Do you think it could be my hard drive because it does go to 99%/ 100% disk space for no reason and it has been very weird.

Even without mods it happens.

Yeah I have been looking for high end i5's or low end i7's because I probably can only spend 500$ give or take on a new processor.

I would just get a I7 is you ever to plan on upgrading to a high end. or you can always go with I5's processor but then you going to need a new mainboard.
