Steam GTA V/LSPDFR Mods Problem

Featured Replies

Hey All,

I went into steam properties and put -scOfflineOnly to see if I could get into the game, worked fine. But alas...ALL my vehicle mods and stuff were gone. Does this happen every time R* puts an update out? or did I do something wrong.

Or is it simply because I am offline.

Sorry if this is a 'newbie' question.

If you're not using a mods folder, then everything you have installed will be overwritten by the new update.

You can find more information about setting up a mods folder here.

I cringed when I saw your reply, but I figured the same. I had read about doing a mods folder but didn't because I had so much done already, and didn't want to move anything lol.

Thank you!

Yeah it's kind of a pain to set up, but it's a lot easier if you ever want to play online because all you have to do is take out the OpenIV asi and then your game is back to stock.  And you don't have to worry about losing your mods when R* decides to update.

Well I don't play 'online' ever. I just play single player for LSPDFR...that's it lol. I never play online...I read the link you sent and it's a little confusing.

All the plugins and such are there (assuming those don't get touched because the root file of GTA V doesn't include them so they don't get wiped on an update such as the mod folder you mentioned) but all the cars I replaced, lights, uniforms etc are gone, lol.

RIght. When GTA V updates, it replaces the "updates" folder, as well as the GTAV.exe and GTAVLauncher.exe; so to make a mods folder all you need to do is create a folder named "mods" in your main GTA V directory (where the aforementioned files are located) and instead of putting vehicle / etc mods in the original files just copy them into the mods folder. So for me I typically copy updates, x64, x64a, x64e, and common.rpf. If you've got skype I'll help you out through that.
