This has affected all devices I have tried (iPad, phone and PC)
I am just posting here before I spend £20 on new headphones.

It's probably a loose contact. You have two options: new headphones, or try to fix them. If it's the plug, it just takes a new plug and some soldering, but is a bit of a pain. If it's the speaker itself, you just need new headphones.

Yes, I've got the same problem with my headset. I have a cheap splitter and sometimes my left ear doesn't work, so I have to turn the audio part of it until it works.

Do you mean you jiggled the plug around *in* the jack? Because if headphones don't work on 3 separate devices, but you can jiggle the plug around to get it to work, that's almost certainly a loose/broken contact in the plug (twisting it around can move the wire back into contact with the plug itself).

What I've done on mine is:

* Get electronics tools (wire cutter/stripper, soldering iron, solder, third hand tool, preferably magnifying glass)

* Get a headphone plug

* Cut off the end of the headphone cord with the plug

* Strip the new end of the cord, solder it into the new plug in the right holes

I went out to Argos and got some new ones, with the 2 year warranty.
