I've been desperate to run the game with every DLC on (since I'm using World of Variety), I've tried several gameconfigs and I stumpled upon your post. I have replaced only emergency vehicles and have only 4 added ones. Turn it off. There are other ways to enable the mplowrider2 cars in singleplayer without using that. If you run RPH 38 it's turned off by default. From what I've seen, that setting causes nothing but crashes if enabled similar to the one you're describing. My game wouldn't even start with it turned on.

By all game DLCs I mean I have them all enabled. If you don't care about certain new DLC cars, you can remove them from the dlclist.xml to give yourself some headroom to install cars. I have not tried world of variety so I'm not sure what to tell you there.

  • Changes for 678.1 game version (these are only values I modified versus original gameconfig.xml). Works with Pinnacle of V and about 30ish addon/15-20 replacement vehicles and all game DLCs. YMMV.

ok so, I just now tried the modified gameconfig in my game, from @Kilyin and took my fps from 60 to 9 and loads with a corrupt file.. I had to replace update.rpf where the file itself actually goes... so are supposed to put files like that in the mods folder, because I always though mods folder was just for cars....Ive also always wondered this because a couple months ago I wanted to try and extended train with files needing to go in the update rpf, I put them in the mods folder and the train never changed...

so do we put files that need to go there in the original update rpf folders or in the mods folder folder???

Thanks for the reply, I now use an .asi mod that does exactly what you described. I had no idea this mod existed. I've been using your gameconfig file for a while now, and it just works perfectly, thank you!

@Quakex64, yes the gameconfig.xml goes into the mods folder if you have one, it isn't only used for cars, it's used for every file you wish to replace in your game without touching the vanilla ones. Just make sure your entire update.rpf is in the mods folder.

Use mods folder for anything you mod with OpenIV.

Hello LSPDFR community!

 

I've been keeping an eye on this thread for some time now, but none of the mentioned modifications to the values in the gameconfig.xml file would work in my situation. I have exactly 177 replaced vehicles and 15 addon vehicles (yes, I know that's a lot, every civilian and emergency vehicle replaced but no motocycles, would like to in the future but I can't ATM)! So after a lot of testing I was able to get the game stable with the following changes to the gameconfig.xml file:

But now I'm no longer able to replace or add more vehicles at all, and no matter how much I increase these values, the game becomes totally unstable, crashing in about 10 minutes of gameplay. But I'm no expert at this, I just looked at other people's gameconfig.xml files to figure out what values to change, so I could be messing it up when I tried to increase all these values at once where it could be that some values are already maxed out or whatever, who knows. I just hope this helps others get more vehicle mods into the game! :)

its off topic, but I would like to get the ones I have working so,

@Flava0ne  I only a few questions for you about the add ons you are able to get working.

1) do you put them (the addons) in a mods folder?
2) do you only use the DLC list meta file to add them? if not, what other files do you use, and where do you put them?
3) can you pm me the add ons that you use?
4) are most of them from gta5mods.com?

Yes, they're all from gta5mods.com and they're mostly race cars, not normal road vehicles. Some of my addons only use the dlclist.xml but a few also require additional lines into the extratitleupdatedata.meta file and a couple require a new folder in the dlc_patch directory of the update.rpf file which contains a content.xml file. All the addons are in a dlc.rpf file in their respective folders inside: mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\ directory.

 

EDIT: You should be only using a mods folder for any mod that requires modification to a native game file (.rpf). Unless you play on a pirated version which is blocked from the internet and would be able to actually modify a native game file without GTAVLauncher.exe from reading them as corrupt and re-downloading them from the internet.

ok, TY.... ive been trying to get a add on type dlc going myself and I cant figure out how to do it yet without my game crashing..... and I always use  a mods folder if I want to edit anything

You've reached the hard limit I think. No amount of editing the gameconfig or anything else will make it stable from my experience. You've got way more cars than I've ever been able to install without getting those game memory errors. I think it's a limitation of the RAGE engine. It's quite frustrating.

Anyway, delayed reply, I've been out of the game for a bit, as it were.

I ended up just using this: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars (base traffic) and editing it a little bit. It's pretty similar to what I posted above but without some of the extreme increases. I have about 21 addon vehicles currently.

Yeah it's updated for 791.2. I compared it to what I was using and some of his numbers seemed a little more legit. I don't know if it'll handle 75+ addon cars but it says it will. Do you really have 75 addons or are you counting replacements as well?
