I have followed several online instructions and tutorials to make sure I have installed LSPDFR properly. When I launch the RAGEPluginHook.exe the game starts just fine. I can't see any shield icons on the minimal and am concerned I have made a mistake somewhere along the way

Post a pic of your root GTA5 folder. please.         and also go to Ragepluginhook.net and download version RPH .22.   NOT .23 or .24 they are to new.    the LSPDFR download does not give u the correct Ragepluginhook.  also make sure u have LSPDFR 2b

Not sure if it makes any difference, I haven't completed the story mode missions yet. 

 

How do I find out the details of my RPH? I have no idea if I'm using .22, .23 or .24.

u can find a download to have all missions complete but i would just do it yourself so u dont have any problems.  Depending where u are in the story mode could very well affect your game.  at least make sure u can select all 3charcters without being chased by anyone in storymode.  if u used the one LSPDFR gave u its going to be the .20 an outdated one. GO to ragepluginhook.net to download Version.22.   trust me download .22.   replace all ragehook files with the new one.  Plus make sure u put all the files LSPDFR 2b gave u in the root folder..  if u had an older version installed u should just delete and reinstall all files manually

You can go to 24 without issues, Ragehook 22 just introduced a new animation task, breaking most scripts.

I downloaded version .22 as was suggested. I copied the correct files and folders to my GTA V folder for LSPDFR play. When I launched the RPH.22 i was told there were dependencies required for RPH to function. I selected 'download' and downloaded Visual C++I downloaded version .22 as was suggested. Which packages did it tell you to download?

I'm brand new to PC, how do I check my log files?

I was directed to Visual C++

 

Which one? There's about 10 different versions, from 2005 and below to 2015.

for sake of ease, I deleted to folder I was working with and recopied my original folder. Starting over fresh so I don't get crossed up

 

I just started over, I'm very confused and trying to keep it simple. my folder just copied to the desktop. its the basic folder from Steam.

Can anyone provide a simple installation guide I can follow? I am brand new to PC and trying to comprehend what people are suggesting.

Did you download the correct C++ package from Microsoft's website?
If you are able to get in game and LSPDFR fails to load, Press F4 and type 'LoadPlugin "LSPD First Response.dll"'

i have 13 c++ downloads from 2008 to 2015 x86 x84 etc....   Just download what it asks you to download.  if ur not sure just download all of them.  C++ is ok.

I downloaded the version it directed me to, figured that was the right one

I have copied the ScriptHookV files into the new folder, and am currently loading OpenIV to my computer.

 

So it directed you to the Microsoft website?

Starmix, I'll try the F4 function if I get the game up and running again

 

it directed me to the Visual C++ website, i wasn't paying attention to whether or not it was Microsoft at the time

 

.22 will have the f4 function working so long u have the correct C++ now..lol   good luck

For whatever reason, I can't find any /log files. I tried finding the OpenIV.log and RAGEPluginHook.log, but there is nothing returning. 

 

Which version of C++ should I have? I feel like there is more to my problem than just C++

ok lets start from the begining..   1st. If u can delete every file LSPDFR 2b gave u manually. MAKE SURE u get every file it gave u.

                                                      2nd. Once again install LSPDFR 2b again. DO not install the RPH or its files.  Add each file one by one drag n drop.

                                                      3rd. add all RPH FILES from VERSION .22 to the ROOT GTA V folder.  Do this manually.  MAKE SURE u add all files the new RPH gives u. Once again Drag n Drop each file

                                                        4th.Try again and download both C++ or if it gives u more than one option download them all.

                                                         do it in this order...

                                                     If i remember correctly it was an 2015 C++ x64
