I recently bought gta5 after seeing that my computer should be plenty to run it at decent settings.

I saw a few videos on my phone with the same specs and the game actually looked decent but I can't seem to get my graphics to look even close. They look like an old original Xbox game. I'm running a radeon 7770hd 1ghz, amd fx6300 6core, and 8 gigs of ram. 

Running it in directx10 right now with it set to normal on basically everyrhing and that's taking 1018/1024 video mem. What could I do to improve it? Could my moniter make a difference? Thanks for any help in advance

Play around with your settings to get a good trade off between quality and frames. You can ingnore GTA's vid memory counter, that thing is useless and has nothing to do with your actual memory.

I tried some tweaking and it seems to have helped a little but I think the big things are if I should keep it at normal quality of change that. If I went up to the next highest which is high then it takes the vmem up to 1600. My other question was about the resolution and what that should be. thanks for the help

Try using the beta drivers of the video card it improves frames abit. don't forget you only have a 1:GB graphics card it can't hardly run GTA V perfect.

(Overclocking will help may crash if unstable)

Check if U have The latest Update of Your Graphic Card ... and Run Your Game On Directx11 and Try Your Game now

and I suggest To Buy A Samsung Monitors...Because If U have A Computer Desktop I think you Must Have This Max Resolution 1920x1080... Or Some Thing Like That But You Must Have Max Resolution....! And If 1018/1024 not the Max Resolution Try To Make it Max
