Open IV Not "Saving" ( GTA V )

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I'm rather new to modding but have modded IV before. When I modded IV I was able to add new textures and models and a load of different thing using Open IV. I have had to reset my computer since then and now when I am modding V my Open IV will not "save" work done inside of the program. If I replace textures and start the game using RAGEPluginHook ( as administrator ) they will not be in game and once I exit the game and look at the Open IV files they will have reverted back to their original state. It's not just textures I have this problem with, Open IV will not save ANY work done at all no matter what files have been changes or how I do it. I'm sorry if you guys are rolling your eyes because it's so simple if it's comething simple like I'm missing something please tell me. Note: I have the Scripthook V and RAGEPluginHook that came with the LSPDFR 0.2b download as well as the ASI loader and the OpenIV.asi that were downloaded with the asi manager in Open IV. A response would be greatly appreciated!

Try changing the file in a 'mods' folder

Are you using a mods folder? If not then you should mod your game via a mods folder. link on how to do it here - http://openiv.com/?p=1132

I'm sorry but what exactly is the "mods" folder, I know this may sound dumb but I've seen it used in Open IV YouTube videos but don't know where it is or how to access it.

Sorry it took this long for you to get an answer, but to save the work you did in Open IV click File, and then click rebuild archive. Rebuild the archive, and then close the program. I had this same problem when I first started modding.

Thanks for the reply's! I will try them and get back to you

Thank you guys so much I ave been working on a skin and couldn't test it so thanks a lot!

The above comment isn't really accurate. OpenIV automatically saves changes you make in Edit mode. Rebuilding every archive isn't necessary.

If you don't use a mods folder though, and you have the retail non-steam version, your changes will get overwritten when you launch the game.
