How to unblock files in windows 10?

Recommended Posts

I didn't really think of this before I decided to upgrade, but in order to unblock files on windows 8 i had to download a file to the registry. I looked online and it said that the option should be under properties if the file is indeed blocked, but I don't see the option, and I'm thinking that they are blicked because none of my callout plugins will load. LSPDFR 0.2b was unblocked before i upgraded, so I think thats why that is working.

I know its really new, but does anyone have any ideas?

If a file is blocked RPH "should" pop up with a warning on load saying "these files are blocked would you like to unblock them?"
You can somewhat force this by re downloading one of the mods and replacing the files with those of the downloaded ones. Even if the file is exactly the same the new file will be blocked by default. you could download an entirely new mod as well providing it's loaded by RPH.

Alternatively you can try adding the windows 8 registry trick again to windows 10. Although I cannot even slightly say this will work nor can I guarantee it's safe to do so, so do this at your own risk.

Thanks for the response! RPH unblocking the files never works for me. It dies pop up, but the files stil never worked. Thats why I had to do the registry trick. I've come up with a workaround until I can confirm the registry add. Using Windows Powershell, I can manually unblock the Rar file before its extracted, and that has seemed to do the trick, althought its a bit of a pain.

Taken from another thread I replied to:

Just confirmed windows 10 has several options to unblock .dll files, some of which consist of using the Windows PowerShell to unblock the file or forcing the Microsoft SmartScreen security thing to trigger which will let you unblock the file on runtime. The easiest way however is to do about it like normal.
Right click the .dll and click Properties. If the file is blocked there will be a checkbox that says "Unblock" at the bottom, tick it and click Apply.
