Okay, so this morning I decided to set some time aside to get the latest LSPD:FR mod and others set up in GTA V. I used to play the old LCPD:FR on GTA IV and loved it, so I thought I'd conform to the latest and greatest. Anyways, I installed 0.1e and the police radio mod, tried it out and worked flawlessly. I then took the time to use OpenIV and install some vehicle textures, light mods, searchlight capability, a new siren, etc. All seemed well until I started GTA V as admin and was about to load up RAGE. I have the non-steam PC version and right when it opened Social Club it says I need to install like 5gbs. So it starts installing...

4 hours later...

I go to play GTA V with all these new mods and textures and they're aren't any... The "patch" or whatever the hell it downloaded wiped everything clean off and reverted them back to their old vanilla textures. I went into OpenIV and sure enough, everything was reverted back to their old textures. LSPD:FR is still there and the other plugins I have still show up. It's only the textures I think that reverted. So, I went back and used Open IV to put them all back in there. I go to load up GTA V again and it starts downloading the 5gbs AGAIN! From scratch!

What the heck is going on? Am I doing something wrong here? What on earth is this? Incredibly frustrating... 

Sorry if this is a repost or already known issue. I've searched the forums and the net and can't find anything about this...

Try creating "mods" folder. I had the same problem and it worked for me like this. With this solution updates won't replace any files ever.

Should I revert my GTA V folder completely back to its unmodified state before doing what you suggest? Can I leave what mods and plugins I already have there or were all of those affected too?

You can leave your mods and plugins there in your folder.  Only Open IV  files need to be changed with Verrys fix so GTA doesn't try to keep overwriting them on startup..

Like mj2020 said. It's good that update reversed the game to the original files, but it's about handling or texture files, like update.rpf. You can keep scripts and Plugins folders, and Script, and Rage Hooks. Just copy needed .rpf files to mod folder and modify them. More in the tutorial. :)

Thanks guys! Got it all working and converted over into mods folder using OpenIV. Only issue I'm having now is that because I have mods that utilize ScriptHookV it no longer works w/ Rage Hook. LSPD:FR 0.1e does not load and the F4 button brings up a trainer only... Sometimes even when I load Rage Hook on start up it just crashes GTA V.

I'm guessing from what I've seen posted elsewhere this is not new and is affecting a lot of people. Will it be addressed in the upcoming release? Anything I can do in the meantime just so I can play LSPD:FR? I haven't found a fix that's worked yet...

I had to stop using the scripthook mods for now.  Running just ragehook mods and lspdfr .  And I had to start GTA first and then alt tab out and run the ragehook.
