Editing a car texture?

Featured Replies

Hi there, i'm trying to figure out how to edit a paint job or car texture. For ex : If i wanna edit the Peyote's texture, where could i find it? I have no problem editing player textures, but since it's the first time i ever try to edit a car skin i am kinda lost.

A car like the peyote is customizable, what should i look for. and where? Thanks and sorry for the noob question.

Use OpenIV. All textures will be located in .ytd files inside x64e.rpf/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf. The ones that are interesting to you are in this case peyote.ytd and vehshare.ytd

Open them in OpenIV, take a look at them. Figure out which texture corresponds to what. Then export them, play around with them, import them and look at the model in OpenIV.

Edit: I just checked out the peyote's textures. It looks like the only textures you can customize for this model are the lights and badges, and that's it. Sorry to disappoint you.
