Everyone is so confusing. Here's why you do. Also make sure you create a different folder with just your original files from GTA IV so you can make multiple directories. (Zip it) • Install the Automat

Alright, did you download the manual installation file or the automatic installation file?

Yes or no, did you install every file in the GTA IV root?

Simply unzip all the files in the manual install into your root GTAIV folder....that's all you need to do.  If it's a Steam version, then the file path to GTAIV should look something like this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV

Then you can open up the .ini file to view the keys needed to play (LAlt + P to start LCPDFR once in game).

PS:  Only use either Dsound.dll or Xlive.dll...not both.  I use xlive since I don't go online in GTAIV.  Simply look through the root GTAIV directory where you installed everything and get rid of one of those files, and keep one.

Good luck!

I dont think so because i read the instructions it went on about different files to what i have !

And its disk yeah will give it a try!

Just follow my instructions, you'll be fine.  Unzip the manual installer files to your games directory and you're good to go.  It's really simple as that.

Don't forget about the dsound vs xlive.dlls...only use one.

EDIT: I should add that you do need to make sure you have the proper net-frame ect.  That is what you are probably referring to.  I think that the auto installer will check for those files for you.  So, try running the auto installer and see what it says.
