Hi,

I recently formatted my PC and installed Windows clean because of the malware mods. I installed GTA and everything again, and everything works including scripthook mods, but LUA mods do not work. That command prompt does not open during the game loading and LUA simply does not engage. I am running Windows 7. LUA is installed properly, as I have checked several times. I get the feeling I am missing some C++ redistributable thing as I had about 15 of them installed before I formatted. I don't know.  

Any ideas?

Could you please , head to the control panel programs and show a screenshot of all the VS distributables.

The redist that you require to run the LUA plugin is the x64 version of this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

It would be best if you installed all the VS redists before this, because some programs, LCPDFR require older versions

​That one that you linked to is installed. The ones that are installed are:

2008, 2010, 2012, 2013.

Nobody? I really want to be able to use LUA mods.

Alright, let's run through the list:

1) Make sure you have Alexander Blade's ScriptHook installed and running properly

2) Make sure that LUA.asi (Or whatever the name of that file is) is in your GTA 5 directory. Not the scripts folder, just the Grand Theft Auto V folder

3) Make sure that your LUA mods are in the addins folder in your scripts folder. Anywhere else and they don't work

4) Make sure the files were not edited in any way. The slightest edit and the whole script could be ruined

5) Make sure the files are not "read only". If they are, then they cannot be used. Make sure that "read only" is off for all your LUA files

6) Are you using a mod manager? Some of those programs mess with LUA and don't let it work right 

7) If all else fails, reinstall it

I don't think you missing any Microsoft application that handles LUA, especially not a C++ redistributable. If you were missing a Microsoft application, then Steam would've downloaded it upon first start-up. Tell me if any of this works, I hope it helps

Oh yes, thanks for reminding. I'm not completely sure, but I think the DVD versions downloads all the components required upon first startup. If it doesn't, then he wouldn't be able to play GTA at all
