Savegames

Recommended Posts

hi guys,

i just updated my GTA 4 to 1.0.7.0 after i played with 1.0.6.0 for a long time. I wanted to play with the LCPDFR Mod so i installed it and almost everything is fine. Only my savegames i used before with 1.0.6.0 are not working anymore. If i use the xlive.dll then they are working but i get a script error ingame and if i use the dsound.dll as recommended in the installation the mod is working perfect only the savegames arent. It always starting a new game if i start the game.

I copied my savegame into the documents and the appdata. Do i maybe need to start a new game?

Anyone who could help me pls?

I know that xlive.dll moves the location of your save games, looking at the changelog the save game file should not have moved. Where you using xlive.dll before?

I used xlive.dll with patch 1.0.6.0 and without LCPDFR. I can find savegames with xlive but i cant run the mod without errors. I can run the mod without errors but dont get the savegames

AS far as I can work out, this isn't support regarding LCPDFR, so I'm moving it.

Did you save while on duty, that corrupts the save game, installing a car mod while having the car model that's being replaced in the save slot can also cause things to not work.

what happens is xlive.dll moves the save game folder, so now that your not using it, it can't find the old saved games. What you need to do is find your old save games and move them to the actual save game folder.

This is a quote about xliveless

Additional notes on savefiles:

* savefiles are now located in the folder:

(for Windows Vista) %USERPROFILE%DocumentsRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames

(for Windows XP) %USERPROFILE%My DocumentsRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames

NOTE: don't forget to copy savegames to the new location

So thats where your save files are from xlive.dll you are going to need to move them to the following location

XP = "C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMELocal SettingsApplication DataRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames"

Vista = "C:UsersUSERNAMEAppDataLocalRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames"

Special thanks to http://uk.gamespot.c...puter-47273139/ for the information on save game locations.

EDIT: Fixed the white colored text.

No the save games are before i used LCPDFR. I used the same save game for a long time and had lots of different car models but i never saved with them

ok I am guessing your using either Vista/7 so you went to

Computer > C > Users > "Your Username" > My Documents > Rockstar Games > GTA IV > savegames and coppied the file and moved it over to....

Computer > C > Users > "Your Username" > AppData (You will need to turn on the option to show hidden folders for this) > Local > Rockstar Games > GTA IV > savegames > and put the files in to any and all "user_*******" folders to ensure that you get the right one.
