So always when I go to a topic for example to a mod topic and when I press the download link it takes me back to the topic and sometimes I see a box with a circle moving around and nothing loads... any ideas why?

​It is a bug. It has been confirmed as present for everyone.

Just because you've had it for a long time, does not mean that it is not a bug.

It can be caused by a few different things, if its due to the software the forum developer will have to fix the problem and release an update. You'll just have to have some patience whilst they work on fixing the problem.
