LCPDFR Trying to locate non-existing savefile

Featured Replies

Hello. I had a crash earlier due to a bad vehicle mod, so I went in, removed the car, deleted the lcpdfr savefile since, well, bugged. When I tried to open the game back up, it crashed almost instantly after clicking play and saying that LCPDFR couldn't locate the savefile (which I deleted). I also reinstalled LCPDFR - still the same problem.

I've also turned the autosave function off, and there are no files with the extension .fr in my directory.

Does anyone know what this might be, or how to go about solving it?

There is a log check error thing;

Tought I should actually make a question and not a statement.

"My heroes are those who risk their lives every day to protect our world and make it a better place - police, firefighters and members of our armed forces."

I'm presuming you mean that FR is trying to reload the session after a crash?

If this is the case, just click the "Cancel" button when it appears on screen, then open GTA IV again normally and the problem will be resolved.

Well that's the problem. When I click cancel, and reopen GTA IV, it's just giving the same error.

"My heroes are those who risk their lives every day to protect our world and make it a better place - police, firefighters and members of our armed forces."

If the game crashes twice after FR attempts to restore a session it'll say something like:

"Would you like to cancel the session restoration and load GTA IV normally?"

At which point you should be able to click "Yes" and GTA IV will be left to load normally without FR's intervention.

Does this prompt appear at any point?

No it doesn't.

"My heroes are those who risk their lives every day to protect our world and make it a better place - police, firefighters and members of our armed forces."

Think you could provide screenshots of what exactly comes up?

I could a short while ago, but I decided to just do a reinstall of the entire game. Figured this would take time to resolve. Thanks for attempting to help though.

Fair enough, let me know how it goes.

If it solves your issue, mark your post as the answer.

Yup, reinstalling solved it so it might not have been an issue with FR in the first place. No it didn't. Here's a screenshot; http://prntscr.com/6v7jjm It says it isn't a LCPD:FR problem, but I dunno. It's now happening seconds after I press Alt + P.

I thought it could have been a bad car model, but it can't be. I'm using the exact same setup that I had when I ran it as stable as GTA IV will ever be.

I don't seem to be getting the error anymore. The reinstall + a little commandline-tweaking seemed to have done it. Still weird how LCPDFR was trying to find a savesession when I disabled that upon install.
