LCPDFR won't start at all on Windows 8

Featured Replies

OS: Windows 8.1

GTA IV 1.0.7.0

Tried both Xliveless and dsound

Simple Trainer .asi works, but not ELS .asi. LCPDFR doesn't work at all, pressing ALT-P does nothing.

My GTA folder:

U8ZTMra.pngand:

7ucvcoB.png

I have tried with or without ELS, Simple Trainer. With both dsound and xlive.dll

First it gave me DLL errors, therefore I have installed both 2010 and 2012 x86 and x64 versions of C++ redist.. And also added the dll's it asked about in the game folder.

Here are logs:

I have installed both these numerous times, both x64 and x86.. I can check my system folders to see if the files are there though? What folders should they be in?

  • Author

You shouldn't have to check them, they will be there if you installed them. I think they should be in C:Windowssystem32 though.

I have installed all of those files.. What more should I do, when it doesn't seem to find them?

  • Author

Run the diagnostic after reinstalling them, and make sure you don't have copies of those files in the GTA IV directory.

Okay, I'll uninstall and install all of them, then reinstall GTA IV, and add LCPDFR. I'll quote your last thread when posting my results :)

Run the diagnostic after reinstalling them, and make sure you don't have copies of those files in the GTA IV directory.

I'll attach the log. How come it is looking for an x86 .dll in the SysWOW64 (x64 folder...)? Is this an error?

  • Management Team

I don't think it's a error that it's looking there. Just make sure you have this installed: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

If you do, try uninstalling the x64 version and only leave the x86 version.

I have uninstalled all of them and reinstalled only x86 versions.

In-game there is the same fail again. Nothing happens at all when pressing ALT+P

  • Author

Okay, here..

Same thing, should I try and put the x86 .dll in SysWOW64?

IT WORKED! I HAD TO PUT THE X86 version of MSVCR100.dll in the SysWOW64 folder..
