Importing "LOADING_TUNE.wav"

Featured Replies

So in which hopefully not complicated way can I import my own loading music for GTAIV. I found some GTA-V loading screens that work fine, but I'm tired of the boring IV music. I want to use

(obviously only the first 30 seconds or so should play, I load fast).

Inside loading tune there is "LOAD_SCREEN_MUSIC_SHORT_LEFT" and "LOAD_SCREEN_MUSIC_SHORT_RIGHT" for left and right ear I assume.

So say I have a wav or mp3, how do I go about importing that to work with IV.

I used to have a working san andreas loading tune, but I can't for the life of me find it. It may seem like a big deal for something that's 15-30 seconds long but I'm tired of IV's theme, lol.

Thanks.

Yes they are for the left and right ear (stupid old technology), but you can use the same song for both without any difference.

You will need to use Andrew's IV Audio Editor v1.0 (the ones used to make sirens don't work with LOADING_TUNE.ivaud). Audacity works for converting the song: just save the song to your computer, preferably as an mp3, import it to Audacity, clip it if you want to (or just use the full song), then export it as a "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM," with whatever file name you want. Don't split stereo to mono like you would with sirens, as that will distort the sound and it's not necessary anyway.

Then, open the ivaud editor, open LOADING_TUNE.ivaud (File > Load), and right click to replace both audio tracks with the song you converted with Audacity. Save it (File > Exit), put it back in LOADING.rpf, and you're done.
