Problem with starting the game

Featured Replies

Hey guys Im not necessarilly a noob when it comes to modding especially with the LCPDFR mod. I have once already had this mod installed and working with 0.91 and then upgraded when the 0.95 beta was released. I made the mistake of saving the game with the mod running and would crash. I couldnt find the saves game location so i restarted with a fresh install and now the mod wont run. My GTA 4 crashes when the game is loading at the last mission I did. A little help would be great :)

If you have corrupted your save file on the previous install and it wasn't specifically deleted the game will still try to load it.

Make sure that AppdataLocalRockstargamesGTAIVsavegames is cleared out, then try to play.

So what mission loads before it crashes?

Or does it just say loading?

edit: actuall you are using xliveless so they are saved elsewhere, i think my documents/rockstar games

aight man I found my saved games but i have three files

SGTA400

SGTA412 they are both files and then I have ControlMap.dat do I need to clear all that out?

Oh hm fair enough, reboot your pc first and then I think my only other suggestion if it still doesn't work is to remove any mods you have, then reinstall the game and start fresh.

Then start a new game, finish a couple of missions and then save and then install the mod.

Sorry but the problem isn't really as obvious as they tend to be here so I'm running out of ideas.

yea I am in the process if reinstalling now and if my screen stays black ill just try to upgrade my graphics card

But hey I really appreciate your help and being patient because you did fix my main problem which was getting the mod to start because it does start now so thank you very much
