Advice for a new PC Setup -

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I haven't posted since last year i believe. Have been away awhile.

Upon returning and trying to redownload everything, LCPDFR/GTA EFLC crashes after seconds and often says "memory error" or "load error" etc. something along those lines.

My current specs are :

GTX 550 Ti

6 GB RAM

i7 960 @ 3.20 GHz

Looking to upgrade my computer for LCPDFR on here as well as GTA V standard game.

I was wondering if i could get imput from someone to tell me if this setup would work accordingly;

- NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB
- Intel Core i5 4690K CPU
- 8GB 1600MHz Memory
- 120GB Samsung EVO SSD
- 1TB 7200RPM HDD
- Upgraded CPU Air Cooling
- GIGABYTE Z97 Motherboard
- 600W Corsair CX Power Supply

Looking to run atleast 30 FPS on high settings smoothly in these games.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

PS: I know i may be able to fix these crash and load errors on my game and LCPDFR but my computer just has so much stuff on it, and i'm due for an upgrade anyway as my GPU is noticably starting to fail at the newer games. So i just want to get opinions on this particular upgrade setup and advice as to whether or not it's a good jump up. Thanks.

Great build! It'll max out with 60FPS @ 1080P with an ENB. Recommend going with a modular PSU so it's much cleaner and also what CPU cooler are you using? The 212 EVO is beast btw for 30 bucks :)

Feel free to PM me for help! Also please hit the like button if anything I said helped or made ya laugh. Specialty is computer hardware and assembling so feel free to ask anything if you need help :)

Not sure honestly! My current PC is one that has been pieced together bit by bit but is long due for an upgrade.

I'm glad you think this will be a good build, I'm just about to order it!

Well, hope you enjoy the new PC! It's a beast :) What case are you going for tho?

Yeah, like dave said, what case? Also, a modular PSU is great for airflow and looks nice if you're using a window, really allows you to tidy up all the cables (and feel awesome while doing it :P).

If you really want looks though, you can go with an AIO (all-in-one) water cooler. I just got my first and it looks AMAZING. Also helps keep the CPU cool.
