Hi,

I have downloaded the strobe lights mod for gta 4 and need help configuring it.

I've tried to get it working and have messed around with the .ini file included, however I can't get it working.

I would ideally like emergency vehicles' tail lights and headlights to strobe when I activate the siren.

go to your els file then hit default_config

everything is explained in the (,) so you should be fine, just leave it as it is. (the controls are J for strobes, K for indicator strobes)

I haven't edited the .ini file and I've followed the installation instructions, and it's still not working. I also use simple  native trainer and that works fine (obviously I have scripthook in place for that). This strobe mod requires the scripthook too, but it's still not working even though I have followed the instructions. Any suggestions?

first off: did you put the files in the scripts folder? (stupid question but this might be the problem ) and second, what keys did you tried out for turning the strobes on ingame?

Where do I find the scripts folder? And I was using K and L in game.

have you installed lcpdfr?

if yes the scripts folder should be in the main game directory

Do I need LCPDFR to use the strobes mod? The only scripts folder I could find was in Common/data

you dont need it. 

just create a folder called Scripts in the main gta directory and place the files in there. then try again ingame

It's unfortunately still not working.

Make sure you have ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi, and either dsound.dll or xlive.dll. Everything you need should be linked somewhere in here.
