Vehicle Model help: All Open Doors/Hood/Trunk fly in the air:

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Been working on a templating some vehicle models and I got all of them done but notice something. When I go to open the doors and/or the hood and trunk area they open up but they are not right. For example the hood and the trunk lid show Way up in the air above the car but when I go to close them they show fine on the model again. When I open the doors they get sucked into the car body and when I close them they look fine again.

I can take a picture if I didn't explain it well enough but does anyone know how to fix this issue? I haven't noticed it at all but I think it is happening when I use dummy helpers to help build the model more (Example being I get the model and it says boot and then within the boot it just has boot [collision]. So I create a dummy helper and name it boot and then change the original boot to boot_L0 and move in into the dummy helper named boot now, then I move the boot [COL] out of boot_L0 and into the dummy helper boot). I'm just guessing I haven't given it a try yet but figure it has something to do with the dummy helper?

Never mind I solved this.

To help anyone in the future that might run into this. The reason was because of the dummy helper placement. I have to place it near the door it is by its pivot point so that the door opens correctly and not into the model itself.

Thanks for reading. Hope this helps anyone else as well.
