FPS : Frames per Second. Use Fraps ( google "fraps" ). Once installed, go in gta4 game, and then top left you will see a number. If the number when you are playing is more than 50 or 60, then you can do enb.

There are other ways than Fraps to find your FPS.

I would say that GPU is not the strongest of the bunch. I had a similar card before in a buddy's build and it would run GTAIV with 25 frames (NO ENB). Get that replaced if you want to run one.

Ok So I just got home installed Fraps and ran GTA IV and this is my results. low settings 53 fps with vsync 70 without.

High settings 30fps with and without vsync. should I get a enb? and if so which one?

If you want to run one. I recommend Games4Video because its not as gpu intensive as other enbs are.

Just wanted to jump in on the FPS bit. I personally play on a locked 30 fps. While 60 fps feels and looks much smoother, 30 fps weirdly feels just fine for GTA. At least for me. The good part about having the game locked at 30 fps is that there's no oddities going on in the physics of the game, like you see in some other games and my performance is always decent.

Have you tried playing on 30 fps? It may be beneficial, especially if you want to mod a lot of the game. Once you get used to it in GTA, it's actually quite fine.
