Good Cases Under $50?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I've recently been looking for a new case because my ThermalTake Commander MSI-D does not do the cable managing job. I was going to be completely upgrading my system, new mobo, processor, everything. I wanted a great case with a side window and easy to use cable management...or atleast space behind the mobo tray, enough to fit cables.

So far, I've looked at the Corsair 300r (expensive), 200r (expensive), and NZXT Source 210. The Source 210 is an amazing case for cable management, I've heard, but has no side window. I really do not have the extra $10 to make my own window either (:P).

Thanks guys.

Also, for anyone who wants to know, the full specs are:

CPU: i5-4690k (which will eventually be clocked all the way up to 4.4 or 4.5ghz hopefully)

Mobo: Asus Z97-A LGA 1150

GPU: Asus STRIX GTX 970 4GB

Case: I need help with that one :)

PSU: EVGA Fully Modular ATX 850w 80+Gold Certified (850 750 same thing I have no idea how many watts it's above 700)

Hard-Drive: Some like Seagate or whatever it's called, it's got a TB and it's 7200 RPM

Hopefully that does it for the specs :)

For components like those, you problably should spend up a little more.  The Fractal Design Define R4 at $79 windowed provides exceptional build quality, sound dampening, flexible routing, and right now is discounted heavily below the price of the Corsair Carbide 300r you mentioned.  Also, the NZXT S340 at $79 is a good option already aimed at the budget market.

$79 is actually very relatively inexpensive compared with other enthusiast cases; your demanding hardware should have a properly designed enclosure to function well in.  In cheaper cases, you will just run into a plethora of compromises that are just not worth the savings.  I would reccomend the Fractal Design Define R4 for it's exceptional value that should serve you for quite a long time.

Yeah, I checked out the S340 and it's only like $55 at Micro Center. I guess I'll look more into that one, thank you. Of course, I will also look into the Define R4 because that looks like a pretty nice case.
