Can't remember a mod....

Featured Replies

Really, really simple Q

I remember reading up on something that caused civilians to commit crimes and carjack.

What mod was it, and where can I find it? Google's found nothing except stories of GTAIV influencing crimes.

I think you're referring to Hippiecommunist's CriminalActs. It's a script that will randomly cause peds to try to rob and carjack you.

It's part of Hippiecommunist's modpack so just pick out "CriminalActs.CS": http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=15964

Another thing I could recommend if you're into crime scripts is this: http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/abandoned-vehicle-cleanup-f8690: "This mod will make a crew recover abandoned vehicles in the player's area (vehicles with no driver or a dead driver). If no abandoned vehicles are found, they may steal vehicles off of the street, from the dealership, etc. The criminals will occasionally get into shootouts with the cops."

This last one however can be annoying sometimes.

Sorry to jump into your thread celticfang but a question for Kjel0112. That "crew" that go around clearing cars, can you tell them apart from other peds somehow ? Like by a certain type of clothing etc, or does it look just as if any old ped took a car ? Also as mentioned in op's reply, does it run well alongside LCPDFR, and do they get flaged as a criminal to you at all ?

Looks like they have red blips above their heads, that and they can be seen breaking car windows when stealing cars. I am going to try that mod when I have finished updating my drivers.

You are using the WRONG right theme!

@Molten: well, to be honest, it's been a while since I last used that script but by what I still remember, the criminals can be recognised from other peds since they're mostly gang members and a red blip appears on top of their heads when they engage in criminal behaviour, like Sniper said. However, the annoying part is the fact that they can try to carjack you as well. You can however reduce the chance in the ini file so that it happens less often. As to whether it works with LCPDFR, I've encountered no problems with it. Whenever I saw some guys breaking into a parked car, I'd get out and try to arrest them. When you do that, the AI cops immediately recognise the person you try to arrest as a criminal and will pursue him as well. What I can't say is whether or not the AI cops engage them on their own. I'd suggest you try out the script and report back

Cool, think I will give it a try in a week or 2. At the moment I want to keep RC2 free from such things as I ams still learning the in and outs of RC2.

Criminal acts also puts you inline to have your car jacked, which yeah can get old quick. At least this has an .ini and chance regulator.

Thx for answers.

Just tried it and they don't have blips above them, maybe they were removed. With a setting of 80 it was quite often, I would recommend a setting of 160 - 380.

Thanks for reporting that! Actually not that bad there are no blips. It adds a bit more realism to the whole thing. I'm going to try this again tonight and use your setting. One more question since you tried it already, did the AI cops try to arrest them on their own?

GTAInside might have that, try going to the link above that was presented. :D
