Her voice bank is that of a female singer and she takes on the appearance of a female character. Regardless if that person/thing is real or not, I always call them gender specific. Take "Thomas Was Alone" for example, that game is about shapes but I would still refer to the shapes as "him, his, etc" because the character is depicted as being male. 

I don't understand the excitement of seeing her live in the beginning of the second video...it's no different from watching her on the internet. Either way it's just a video.
