I can not run GFWL once in GTA 4. When I click on Live or Live Marketplace you hear the noise indicating that you clicked on it but nothing shows up. Also, when I try running it out of game I get a notice saying that "The Client must point to the same Windows Live ID environment as the Windows Live Sign-In Assistant Service" I am really confused and want to play multiplayer!!! Please someone help!

 

P.S-  In case this makes a difference I have Windows 8

I HAVE THE SAME problem I really dont know what to do I dont know if its a Windows Live bug or something but very irratating, do you run on Windows 8 as well I will make some reaserch on the internet and try to contact Windows to see if its a bug on their side.

The short story is that GTA IV is not supported on Windows 7 or Windows 8 and the Microsoft support will not be able to help you if you run the game on an unsupported operating system. 

Well, the reason why you can't access the Marketplace is because it doesn't exist anymore. http://support.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-on-other-devices/windows/pc-marketplace-closing

 

When you play the game, a popup should appear saying that you've signed in or that you need to create an account. As long as you have an account and are signed in you don't need GFWL anymore (other than to invite friends/whatever), as GTA IV's multiplayer is accessed in the game via the phone. 

do you mean this pop up? Cause if it is this I only have the looping problem to deal with. But for the steam version do we need the new 1.0.7.0 patch as well?
