"Object reference not set to an instance of an object" message on top left corner of my game.

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've recently (yesterday) reinstalled GTA IV and installed some mods along with it to fix a crashing issue I had. (it's resolved now)

Anyway, on-topic;

I have been having this small but not severe issue where a message pops up in the top left corner showing a timer (I'm guessing this is how long I've been playing since the message appeared) and next to it it shows the text: "@ Tick: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." every time I step in a vehicle and stay still with it.

for example, if I start driving  it goes away, but comes back when I'm standing still in the car.

Now, this message doesn't mess with my files or crash my game, however it can sometimes be annoying.

Does anyone know what's causing this message to appear and how to get rid of it?

[EDIT: Solved. Was the mod 'OvertakingFix' giving me those messages.
