ELS stands for Emergency Lighting System, which is a mod that is used with ELS enabled to cars to give more options to the defaul siren lighting effects..!!!

Some love it some hate it.I,personally,avoid it...

...most of the times.Because it ruins the gameplay as it has to generate a new light pattern everytime.And for this,it must respawn it every time it changes,which leads to a brand new car and the damage is gone.So,basically your car is invincible as long as the els is activated (but you can turn the sirens off and it'll be back to normal).Also,the doors don't open properly,but seem to be flickering/fluctuating.And as for me,it is just an interference in my peaceful gameplay.

The video is not mine,ofcourse.But it'll give you an idea of what it does.I,personally,don't like to go on duty with them and hence I use Sam's recently released non-els CrownVic.So,if you don't want it,try searching for "non-els vehicles",but if you want it,you don't have to "search" anything as there are hundereds of models which are els-enabled.Look for the term "els-enabled" in the car's file description and you'll know.Hope I helped. :blush:

ELS Allows you to not only use the primary lights on EMS vehicles, but also the secondary lights...which are usually the yellow caution lights. ELS allows you to choose whatever patern you want, and also, as an added glitch, when you turn your lights on, it repairs the vehicles! ^_^

You only need it if your using modded cars. Otherwise.. Stay away!

I personally don't find the door glitching or the invincible cars annoying. To have realistic lights (ELS) + LCPDFR is way better than anything else in my opinion.

Allthough I do agree mostly. I do find it really annoying that I have to turn my lights of when I get to a shootout. Reason I have to turn lights of is I like to use the car for cover and it adds 100% to realism if the car is taking gunshot damage. For me anyway.

The best game in the world for the little things that GTA is missing is MAFIA 2. It had the best vehicle damage feature. A vehicle didn't just explode. It would slowly burn peeling the paint away until it was a burnt husk. Also when you stopped at a red light your breaks went on an AI didn't hit you. Also there was a speed limit, cops would pull you over, you could bribe them, receive tickets, ect.

I am glad my car doesn't take damage. Otherwise in a big shootout it would explode as if it were a bomb.
