British Armed Police - Footage of TAKEDOWN

Featured Replies

Hey, I found this interesting footage that was released on the Metropolitan Police Service's YouTube today. It shows armed police officers from SCO19 intercepting a (possibly) armed suspect in which they then manage to get him on the ground. It's part of a training exercise but I do believe it is very similar to what happens in reality (apart from members of the public intruding/making it difficult for the officers to arrest). It's not unlike the "Helmet Cam" footage we are so familiar of from troops serving abroad in Afghanistan.

The Met are now trialing body cameras due to public pressure since recent tensions regarding the shootings of an unarmed person in Tottenham. Will be interesting to see what footage actually comes of this.

This is a fantastic idea imo, it should help the public see the view that firearms officers have when they have to make those decisions.
