ELS 8 Lighting issues

Featured Replies

Alright I know there's alot of posts about this topic, BUT they have all not worked as in the reflections. I added some lines in the ELS.ini, They have not worked and I'm not sure if the ELS 8 would be in a different style setups.  On my Police cars using the ELS 8 police pack blue reflections are not visable or showing up via attached photo along with a config photo. Tho I did notice on an ambulance when AI was driving that there was infact a blue and red reflection which was odd after adding the  lines to the ELS.ini file. All works fine except that dreaded blue reflection, as it looks very immersion breaking in a sort of speech. Thanks for the time to read/reply to this post not to mention I'm glad I found this mod it has brought me a ton of joy :}

Remove everything under "Lstg3LightsMoveTraf = off," you no longer use ELS.ini to control the vehicle lighting. You say you read the posts, well perhaps you should have read the User Guide that comes with ELS first.

You change the environment lighting in the vehicle configuration files in the ELS folder. I'm not going to explain how to use the VCF files because that is what the User Guide is for.

Lots of other people have gone into ELS 8 without reading it first, so you're not alone. It's a lot to learn and figure out, but when you do it's definitely worth it.

Fewf, Well I've looked at the veh configuration. Looked at the section for the lighting via PDF guide  took a look at these settings seams to be the place to where you edit them via the VCF.  Just to make 100% sure that what I'm looking at is Indeed the settings. Yes, First time ever using ELS and from what you said the Envorment lighting and the guide  You can close/delete post if you see fit seeing how my Incompetance to read the guides led to this in the first place. Tho even changing some things still poses an issue. But ill keep reading and figuring things out Thanks again!

Forgot to add settings to ELS As stated by this post I just found and found that section in the user guide.  Close/delete this thread/post Thanks

  • Open default_config.ini
  • Scroll to [ ENV_LIGHT_COLORS ]
  • Change whichever extras you wish to change. Acceptable colors are RED, BLUE, EBLUE, WHITE, AMBER, GREEN, MAGENTA. Extras 1-4 are primary lights, usually the lights on the lightbar. Extras 5-6 are the warning lights, usually wig-wags/takedowns. Extras 7-9 are secondary lights, usually a traffic advisor.
  • Save as a name other than default_config, i.e. police.ini.
  • Open _SLOTCONTROL.ini
  • For the car you wish to use the configuration file you just created, i.e. [ POLICE ], change "File = default_config" to "File = [name of your file, i.e. police]"
  • Repeat for every car you wish to change "
