Headset Static?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I'm loading GTA IV and my headset has static to the audio. When the game plays the loading music it starts to sound static. You can hear the music, but it's almost like the static surrounds it.

TeamSpeak works crystal clear, YouTube, Spotify, System sounds, etc. I'm also rendering a video in Vegas but I don't know if that has anything to do with it..

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

(Yes I unplugged the headset and plugged it back in again)

Everything needs more lights.

If you didn't add the "I unplugged it and re-plugged it" that would have been my first response :P

It could be a bugged sound file, maybe. If you have a fresh copy of the game I would probably try locating the intro music file and replace it with the fresh one, or you can download a custom music file and put it in there to see if it produces static.

Unless, of course, this is your fresh copy, then I would try copying it, replacing it with a custom music file, and see if it still produces static.

I'm not sure if it's the Audio. It's also the selection button audio, it's everything. I think it may have to do with the render in Vegas. Maybe its conflicting

It's definitely possible that it's because of another program. Kind of like how my mouse stopped working in GTA IV after installing Watch Dogs, then worked again after verifying the Watch Dogs files.

GTA IV is very odd.
