2014 has been the highest year in LODD for police officers since 9/11. This is a  tribute to the officers that put their lives on the line everyday for service to their communities.

I'm actually glad i wasn't born in the US.

 

Because i plan to enroll into the police academy in a couple of years, and if i was living in the US i would actually regret doing it because of the amount of LEO deaths. here in Australia, last year we had 3 officers killed. although that would be zero if officers carried ballistics vests under their uniform (which is what most US departments have)

 

In Tasmania (the state i live in) the last officer that was killed was back in the late 90's which makes it over 13 years since the last death. which i'm grateful for.

In my state the last time an officer was killed was in 2007 and that, like most from my state, was a traffic accident. The last time an officer was actually murdered was in 1994, 20 years ago. A LEO death every 58 hours is a scary, scary thought.
