Hey everybody.

Im really new to the whole PC gaming, and especially modding. I have a copy of GTA IV that I bought from steam. I am not able to patch the game to the newest version because when I go to the setup wizard for the patch, It can not find the file. I have played the game and have a desktop shortcut, but the wizard cant find the exe file for some reason. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful. I have run the diagnostics tool, but it too claims the game is not found. This is NOT a crack. It is a legit paid for and downloaded game. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

EDIT: Ok, I have found a support thread stating that the steam version is updated automaticly. I am still wondering why my files cant be found. It is a problem for spark IV also. I have to load it manually. I am also getting an error which kills the LCPDFR mod. The error is along the lines of " Script error. Engine crash ". It is something along those lines. I am aware of where the launch for the game is. I am confused as to why the diagnostics tool, nor the Spark IV app are able to locate the files for my game. Every you tube video I have seen, the spark app has automaticily opened the files, but for some reason mine will not. My diag tool also denies that I have the game, which I do.

You do not need to patch the Steam version of the game. It is already up to date. The patcher is for the CD version only.

Because it is the steam version you may have to direct Spark and other applications to where Steam installed the game (SteamApps, as break said). Spark should be able to auto detect it, though, on the newest version.
