Windows Media Player Will Not Play Anything!

Featured Replies

So yesterday windows media player was playing everything fine. Then that exact night i recorded a YouTube video and when i went to play back the footage windows media player said this

I am on windows 8.1 and i have seen a bunch of possible fixes online and none of them work. Does anyone know how i can solve this.

I am aware of the 'Music' and 'Video' apps that come with windows 8.1 however i just want to not use them, However if i can't fix WMP i guess i will have to.

Does Windows Movie Player even support Mp4s? I use my own program, screw WMP.

Yes, Because it is the latest version that comes with windows 8.1 there is no download from microsoft therefor i have to try and repair it from the computer.

Yeah, use VLC player, the only time i ever use Windows Media Player is if the media/movie file isn't supported for VLC Player (which is mostly .mkv format).

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me
