Hello, I had to delete my game save files and re-download GTA IV a couple of times because of this weird error and the game would crash as soon as it loaded. I added LCPD:FR 1.0b, ELS v8 vdH Police Helper, etc. When I use a ELS ready police vehicle, The lightbar works, the ELS menu shows and the lights strobe, but there is no radius to the flash. (I don't know how to put it in words) They strobe and they light up, but they don't create a cloud, reflection or flash of light like they are supposed to. What should I try to do? What can I do? It worked once, then it just stopped working. I'll try to post a normal lightbar picture and then mine if you don't get what i'm trying to say. I'm no Java Scripter or Programmer. I'm learning currently, bare with me on this and please be nice. Im using a Windows 8 Computer and im using xliveless.

 

EDIT: This is unrelated and you don't have to answer this question, but how I can play MP with a Win 8 PC? I would be greatful if both questions were answered

Are you using any type of graphics improvement mod? Like a timecyc mod or ENB? Also, what does the [ ENV LIGHTING ] section say under your ELS.ini?

Im not using any graphics improvement modification at this time, These are my ENV Lighting settings... Don't tell me I missed something... Lol.   

 

[ ENV LIGHTING ]

Range_PRML = 30

Inten_PRML = 6

Range_SECL = 3

Inten_SECL = 7

Range_WRNL = 3

Inten_WRNL = 7

Range_TKDN = 13

Inten_TKDN = 8

IntMult_Crnas = 1.0

EnvMult_Morning = 0.2

EnvMult_Evening = 0.4

EnvMult_Night = 1.0

Hmm, everything looks normal there. Did you copy the visualsettings.dat from the ELS install zip file? I'm not sure what else could be wrong beyond that.

By "no glow around it", do you mean it looks like this?

If so, open up your .../common/data/visualsettings.dat and find this:

 

car.defaultlight.emissive.on	10.00		

(note: number may vary)

Crank that up as high as you want it.

Just know that if you crank it up too high (see spoiler) it will affect taxi signs as well.

There's no kill like overkill. In this photo, the car.defaultlight.emissive.on is set to 10,000.
