Heading on duty problem

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I sort of tried to withhold myself from creating a topic, as there are tons of stickies here and tutorials on these forums with assistance on how to fix certain bugs within the modification, but after two re-installs, one re-install of the actual GTA IV game, deteting my GTA IV folder and putting everything back in (things such as advancedhook.dll and etc), it doesn't seem to work for me.

I have a very powerful graphics card, and I do not lag at all - I can run pretty much every game on the market currently, so I doubt it's to do with that. But this is the problem I'm facing:

I press ALT + P in-game, and it introduces me to the mod and asks me to go to a police station. I head to the one in Hove Beach because I've only unlocked the first island of the game, and I press ALT + P in the room on the right but nothing happens. It comes up with an exception error and that's it.

I press CONTROL + P and it gives me a baseball bat and says: "FORCED DUTY", yet, I'm not on duty and no other commands work.

Once again, I sincerely apologise for creating yet another topic with the masses of topics with problems here, but I pretty much bought GTA IV on the PC because I absolutely love this mod.

So please, if you can help me, please tell me how I can fix this!

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

For those who need it, my diagnostics log:

When you enter the station, you're supposed to walk to the door at the end of the hallway, just ahead of your guy when you enter the station. (It's the one with the glass door). If you enter that you will be asked to select your model, then brought back to the station. Then you can enter the other room with the glass door, in which you can restock health and armor and recruit a partner. Then you leave the PD through the same red marker in which you spawned. Then it will request you to choose a car. When that's done you're on duty.
