Added cars wont spawn

Featured Replies

Hey guys!

I've added a police bike (newveh.ide, newveh.img, newhandling.dat). When I want to spawn it with the trainer via Added Car Spawning, it says "Unable to spawn requested vehicle, please check the model."

How can I avoid it? It took me a long time to get the game starting with an added vehicle.

You'll need to edit at least three game files to get the game to load the new files you added.

Find default.dat, gta.dat, and images.txt. (...Grand Theft Auto IVcommondata|...EFLCcommondata)

In default.dat, add this to the very bottom right under the line starting with LBICONSFILE:

HANDLING common:/data/newhandling.dat
In gta.dat, at the very bottom add this:

IDE common:/data/newveh.ide
Finally, in images.txt, at the very bottom right under the line starting with #map instance, add this:

platformimg:/models/cdimages/newveh	1
If you're still having trouble getting them to spawn via Native Trainer, check your trainer.ini file and make sure you spelled the model names correctly.

As a final note, if you would like your added vehicles to spawn in traffic naturally, edit cargrp.dat and place them in the proper spawn groups. If you don't want traffic to spawn with them at all, place them in the # POPCYCLE_GROUP_ONLY_IN_NATIVE_ZONE. That group will not allow traffic to spawn with vehicles under it, same goes with the # POPCYCLE_GROUP_COPS group (except the very first two slots).

EDIT: Forgot to say, you'll need to use a text editing program to open the three files (notepad can do it just fine, use whatever you prefer).

The files are already edited and everything is spelled correctly. But I had the "platforming:/models/cdimages/newveh       1" right under the last platforming line (in my case, LCPDFR's taser thingy). I put it below the "#map instance" line but it didn't help at all, the trainer keeps giving me this error.

I also can't spawn them via .net scripthook. They won't need to spawn naturally in traffic, I use Traffic Spawner (I think it can spawn added cars, but I'm not sure).

I've tried adding vehicles a while ago when I was very new to modding, I had the same result.

Here, install this:

From there, make sure you have script hook dot net installed. Once in game, press tilde and type "spawn police3" and press enter. If a Police Buffalo spawns, you're good to go.

I don't know what's wrong with what you're doing, other than you must have typed something wrong somewhere.

Thank you.

But those cars won't spawn too. The scripthook console ingame says "Unable to spawn requested object" (or something like that) and the trainer "Unable to spawn requested vehicle, please check the model." (like it was before).

So, I'm going to replace some cars. Maybe the normal Schafter with TBoGT's one and so on.

Edit: Nevermind. I forgot to put the newvehicles.img into pcmodelscdimages. Looks like I also can add new vehicles to them.  But it's giving me texture losses after some minutes. <.<

Edit again: I edited my commandline a bit, works fine now (but only if I'm not using JulioNIB's bicycle mod :/).
