Question with command lines and windowed mode.

Featured Replies

I am wondering how I can change my GTA IV to run in windowed mode. I looked around Google and people were saying that you would put a command line in. I have one already i just wanted to know it that would affect my game play (lag wise). If it doesn't Mess with my game, please tell me how to run GTA IV in windowed mode. Help me fill in the blanks here. :)
Thanks,

make a text document called commandline.txt

put   -windowed

in the document

place the document in your directory

as for lag ive never really noticed i only use windowed when im showing something in teamviewer/join me

"Prepare yourselves, the bells have tolled! Shelter your weak, your young and your old! Each of you shall pay the final sum! Cry for mercy; the reckoning has come!"

You're going to want to append to your command line file the following:

-windowed
-width <next resolution down from your monitor resolution>
-height <next resolution down from your monitor resolution>
The reason behind the resolution is otherwise it'll default to 800×600 (or it did in my case) and the reason behind it being a step down is so the whole window is visible - not of the bottom or right is chopped off.

Know, however, that the resolution may bug out (i.e. a line of pixels in the game will appear chopped off) - I can post an example fo what I mean by that, and it appears (in my experience) only with text.
