GTA IV Lags when facing one direction? (not the band lmao)

Recommended Posts

My game runs extremely well at about 30 fps with LCPDFR, els, and enb, and a few modded cars, however I seem to get an immense amount of lag when ever I face a certain direction on the map such as North. It happens in a car or on foot, with or without mods, and I have a commandline and the Windows Event stuff turned off. Please help!

Could you give more details as to where you are exactly when this happens?

It could be for various reasons, for eg: If you're at the southern-most parts of the map & you look north & it lags, could be because of your draw-distance,

It could be because of a certain part of the map that's having trouble being rendered.

You can google for a map of LC & draw (using Paint or another such application) on it places where it lags & in which direction you're facing when it does.

Some common causes / solutions to try:-

Reduce your View & Detail distances ingame. To make it quick, set both to 0 & 0, & test it out. If the problem still happens, then it maybe something else causing it.

It could be a problem with your graphics card, or something in your GTA:IV installtion that corrupted a part of the map (again, test it further to find out which part of the map / if a part of the map is corrupted).

Thanks for your help! It does however happen anywhere on the map and it happens while looking west, I get lag spikes. Even if I am furthest west on the map I get it, and I have tried all settings on low and it still happens, just not as bad.

huh.....

Are you sure you don't have / have never installed any map mods?

Try a clean install of GTA:IV, that should get rid of it, I guess.

Also try getting to the furthest West of the map that you can, get a boat or heli & fly more West. And keep going for a while & seeing if the lag goes or not.

In any case, I can't think of anything else other than a clean install of IV to solve it.

I have never installed a map mod, but I did do a COMPLETE reinstall of the game, including reinstalling and downloading the enb and mods again. I tried it with no modded cars and without a traffic spawner script and it still did it, but a little less. It is not always the same direction either, but I did go to the furthest point in the direction it was happening and it did nothing...

What are your PC's specs?

Are your Graphics (GPU) Drivers up-to date?

It may be the GPU acting up or such.

Try monitoring your CPU & GPU usage while playing & see which maxs out when the lags happen. I don't know any, so just Google for some Monitoring programs.
