More realism for lcpdfr traffic stops?

Recommended Posts

I just had a few ideas pop into my head while patrolling regarding traffic stops. I'll list them below.

I understand these could be hard, or damn near impossible to make but I'm just throwing some friendly suggestions out there.

-Passenger seat computer access

After stopping a vehicle and grabbing the drivers details we could walk to the passenger side of our patrol car, check the licence and get out on the same side so we don't get run over on the freeway.

I don't mind if the player still slides over to the drivers seat...just have him slide back to the passenger seat and exit in safety.

-Ask a driver to move to a safer location

Before talking to the driver, place a waypoint on the map (eg. next exit ramp) then when we walk up to the window we can tell them to move to that location and pull over again as normal. This would be a lot safer if we needed to arrest the driver or make them walk due to an expired licence or damaged vehicle.

-Increased fines/citations

I don't know what it's like in the U.S. but here in Australia $100 wouldn't even cover a "failure to indicate". A basic speeding fine is around $200 going off of personal experience.

How about options for $50, $125 and $200? maybe even a 4th option for $300.

It's not a big deal but it is more realistic.

-Slower traffic

Have vehicles reduce their speed to a safe limit starting roughly 50 to 100 meters behind your car and speed up again once they pass the vehicle you have stopped but only affecting the traffic on your side of the road. Oncoming traffic should not be affected . Once again, This adds to safety and realism.

The construction zones on the Plumbers Skyway have a decent speed limit you might be able to copy

-Call for assistance

Call for a backup unit to assist with a potentially dangerous stop such as a stolen vehicle or owner warrant.

After the backup unit arrives the cop behaves like your partner would. If the suspect opens fire on you the other cop can drop him. If the suspect makes a run for it the other cop returns to his vehicle and gives chase and if the traffic stop ends without incident he returns to his vehicle and continues patrolling.

Also...Any cop that joins my pursuits treats me as though i am totally invisible! They make no effort what so ever to go around me on the road. Instead, they will attempt to drive right through me as though i don't exist.

I'm not talking about a pile up on corners or any of that typical stuff. I mean on a straight road like Union Drive or the Algonquin/Dukes Expressway. Traveling in a straight line at roughly the same speed they will just slowly shove you off the road to get past.

Could someone PLEASE fix or reduce that. The pile ups i can live with.

Thanks for reading, I hope these ideas could be useful.
