Gta launch problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a freshly installed version of gta iv (pc version).  There are no mods installed.  Everytime I go to play, the game starts up fine but the slideshow wheel of the characters and music just continues over and over and I never actually make it to the game.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks,

Can your PC support GTA 4?

Is it a legal copy (not downloaded from torrent sites)?

Are you patched to 1.0.7.0?

Try restarting your computer, once it's restarted disable your anti-virus (sometimes background programs and Anti-Viruses conflict and don;t let certain applications or games work)

I did that and it is still not working.

I did that and it is still not working.

Try doing a fresh install, patch it to 1.0.7.0, once your at the start screen (where you choose GTA 4 or EFLC), once you're at the start screen, click on 'options' instead of 'start' then lower your settings.

from the sounds of it, your computer can't load GTA 4 because it can't handle it.

The only other thing i can think of is that your game is ruined. try cleaning your disc then retry loading it.

if that doesn't work, your only other option is to buy a new disc.

Delete savegames & Settings folders. The first is in this root if you use xlive: C:Users*DocumentsRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames; while the 2nd is here: C:Users***AppDataLocalRockstar GamesGTA IVSettings
